LEARFIELD Website Redesign

Why A Project On LEARFIELD.com?

When doing research a few months back about the company I would be interning for this summer, I struggled to get a grasp on how exactly the company functioned as a whole and how it served universities, students, fans, etc. After starting my internship, I learned more about just how complex the company is and how everything meshes.

Building off the foundation of the existing LEARFIELD website, the goal of this project is to provide a straightforward and visual-first approach to LEARFIELD that gives way to a better understanding of who we are and what we do for prospective clients, fans, and my parents.

Problems Addressed

There were a few issues I wanted to address while working on this project:

  • Logo usage/Use of IP

  • Wording

  • Descriptions of what the different business lines do

  • Descriptions of what LEARFIELD does

  • Lack of visuals

Tools Used

Figma

  • Design prototyping tool

  • Application focuses on user interface and user experience design

The project is built off the foundation of LEARFIELD’s current website and was created in Figma to allow for a live demonstration of a functioning website for my project presentation.

KEY CHANGES

  • Imagery covering the entire initial landing spot

  • Relatable wording that explains who we serve and how we do it

  • Cut the white section to keep a darker theme and easier flow on the homepage

  • Changed “Who We Serve” imagery to icons

  • Edited wording on the four sections of “Who Do We Provide Solutions To?” to be more specific

KEY CHANGES

  • Deleted “Latest News” section from Homepage, but kept “News” in the top menu bar for easy access

  • Added “Our Network of Services” to allow users to understand the depth and complexity of LEARFIELD and all the services we offer

  • Added brand logos rather than “Learn More About CLC” buttons

    • Gave brief descriptions of what each business line does while associating them with the respective icons (who they serve)

KEY CHANGES

  • Changed introductory paragraph to be clearer and more specific about our connection with schools

  • Added property map to showcase the wide area we serve and large number of schools we serve

  • Added school cards/tiles with school logos, allowing fans to more easily recognize the schools, rather than having to read a list

    • Tile cards function the same way, where a click will lead users to the individual sports property page that lists more information about the property and who works there

KEY CHANGES

  • Maintained old photo as initial landing spot on page to pay homage to LEARFIELD’s past

  • Changed three-paragraph section about the company’s history to a timeline

  • Timeline includes LEARFIELD and IMG, the acquisitions they made throughout their history, and their merger in 2018
